One of my favourite things about Toronto is how friendly people are and how supportive they are. Through blogging, I work with many companies and I love building a relationship with the people behind those brands.
I was following Chance and Fate on Instagram for a while and finally met the owner, Michelle, at a pop-up that she did at Souvenir last month. It’s always funny meeting people in person because you feel like you already know them. Michelle and I clicked as soon as we met and decided to work together when my schedule cleared up.
I went to see her at the Holiday Pop Up that she’s doing with Mary Young, Kotn, and Frank and Oak Women (running until December 24th at 12 Ossington Ave.) and looked through her amazing clothing selection. As you might have noticed from my Instagram account, I rarely wear colour, so I started trying on anything that was black, white, or grey. Then, Michelle pulled out this amazing shirt dress from Kelly Love and as soon as I tried it on, I fell in love with it.
The colour is so versatile because it can be worn in any season; orange for fall and winter, bright enough for spring and summer. To make it warm enough for the current winter wonderland outside, I paired it with some high waisted grey jeans from Topshop and unbuttoned the top so it was open from the waist down.
Since it’s way too cold to take these pictures outside, I decided to shoot it in one of my fave cafés right now, Safehouse Coffee on Dundas West. You might recognize it from my Instagram account. Getting there is a little trek , but it’s definitely worth the trip. My friend Emily brought me there two weeks ago and we had a cute little morning coffee date. I met the owners Tyler and Chris, who were super nice and non-judgy about me taking a bunch of pictures, so I reached out to them for this shoot. If you ever go there, I highly recommend getting their peanut butter banana muffin; it’s so delicious and you’d never guess that it’s vegan!
If you’re still looking for gifts, I highly recommend checking out the pop-up on Ossington because they have men’s clothes, women’s clothes, and some cute home accessories that Michelle brought from Souvenir!
