If you read my last post, you already know how much I like connecting with local brands and visiting pop-ups, so I’ll spare you the same spiel. When I was on my way to Rally for Chance and Fate’s pop-up with Mary Young, Kotn, and Frank and Oak Women, I walked past a sign for a pop-up on Queen West. I decided to walk into the space that The Wanderly is at until December 31st to check out the space.
The space reminded me of an Urban Outfitters shoot with hanging macrame on the walls and Turkish tapestry, as well as vintage clothes and local jewellery. I was definitely feeling the vibe and started chatting with one of the owners, Sarah. She told me that The Wanderly is a travel-inspired pop-up. She picked up some tapestry in Turkey and ceramics from New York, which are all for sale at the pop-up. She also carries soap and jewellery from local brands like Wildwood and Hawkly.
As I was going through the racks of vintage clothing, I spotted these orangey-brown pants that looked like they were a mom jean fit (which I’m obsessed with). Sarah told me that only the right person would fit in it since the shape isn’t for everyone. I decided to try them on and lo and behold, they fit like a glove. I have so many high waisted skinny jeans, but not many loose-fit pants. I like these because they’re high-waisted but still baggy on the legs; the fabric is also super thick and warm for Winter.
I chose to style the pants with the Aristocratic button-up shirt from Bench that had a loose enough fit, but that I was still able to tuck into the pants without the fabric looking too bunched up. I also added a string neck tie and rings from my fave jewellery brand, Cadette, for some extra detail.
